The Quality Assurance Committee of the Law Department of the College of Law and Administration held a national workshop entitled, “The Capital Punishment and its Application Problems in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq” on the 29th of November 2022 at Central library hall at the UoH presidency.
Besides, the workshop consisted of three seminars. The first seminar was presented by Mr. Zanyar Bakhtyar under the title, “The Capital Punishment Between Retention and Abolition” in which he discussed the effects of the capital punishment as well as presenting some statistics on it. Additionally, he explained the effects of retention or abolishing the capital punishment.
The second seminar was presented by Mr. Dilshad Hamid under the title, “The Capital Punishment in Public International Law” in which he explained the effects of implementing or holding capital punishment.
The third seminar was entitled, “Practical Problems of the Capital Punishment in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq” in which the problems of holding or retention the Capital Punishment in the Kurdistan Region were discussed. To conclude, he presented some statistics on those who are given capital punishment and are awaiting in the rehabilitation centers.
