Media Department Organized a Workshop

On December 2020, Media Department at College of Humanities organized a workshop entitled, “Free Media in Kurdistan Regional Government, Causes and Effects” in which a number of academic staff were present including Dr. Dana Abdullah, vice-president for Scientific Affairs and a number of lecturers.
The workshop was run by Mr. Ismail Osman from Media Department.
At first, Dr. Dana Abdullah gave a speech in which he emphasized the importance of free media in developing the countries and also hoped that media department at UoH has a role in this development in our country.
Then, Dr. Salam Nasradeen, a lecturer at UoS, gave a presentation about the history of the free media and its methods.
Besides, he discussed the governance system and free media in KRG.
Then, Dr. Hataw Hama Salih, a UoH lecturer, performed an evaluation about kurdish media according to international standards of Free Media.
At the end, the judge at Halabja Governorate Court Mr. Bakhtyar Muhammad Ali clarified the role of court in the framework of journalist rules limits.
He also discussed the rules and constitutions which are written for free media and he stated that Law is to serve journalism.
