Department of English Language Conducted a Workshop

Department of English Language conducted a workshop entitled “American English E-Teacher Program” which was presented by three English Language Department lecturers on the 28th of December 2018.
The first seminar was offered by Dr. Nian Kamil in which she discussed the methods of teaching English Language courses and also mentioned the factors and strategies which lead to learning Languages in an effective and successful way.
Besides, she showed the points and the activity involvements that help in the improvement of English Language Learning process.
The second seminar was offered by Mr.Omar Fuad Ghafoor under the title, “Digital Citizenship Creative Commons and License Types”. Mr. Omar stated that due to the today’s rapid technological change which has come into the world everyone becomes a citizen of the world as it is called Digital World.
Besides, he clarified the ways to get benefit from other’s product by applying the law of (Copy Right).
Copyright is a legal right that grants the creator of an original work exclusive rights to determine whether, and under what conditions, this original work may be used by others.
Copy Right includes Creative Commons which is an American non-profit organization devoted to expanding the range of creative works available for others to build upon legally and to share.
The organization has released several copyright-licenses known as Creative Commons licenses free of charge to the public.
The last seminar was presented by Mr. Goran Omar on the Cultural Misunderstanding of Nowadays in which he pointed out the development of network technologies and means of Transportations and the world looks like a small village.
He stated that sometimes having not enough information and knowledge about other cultures will cause misunderstanding and problem among people.
The content of this seminar aims is to understand the characteristics of main known cultures in order to avoid misunderstanding.
Conducting this workshop was the result of an online summer course which was managed and sponsored by Secretary of State of United States for the English Teachers globally.
