Workshop Held on Marriage and Divorce in Islam

The Department of Principles of Religion – College of Social Sciences held a national workshop on “Marriage and Divorce in the Light of Sharia (Islamic Law)” on the 2nd of February, 2022.

The workshop consisted of three parts as follows:

Dr. Rasul Hasan Rasul gave a presentation on زواج المسیار roughly translated as “traveler’s marriage” which is a type of marriage permissible by some Sunni Muslims and considered forbidden by other Sunni Muslims.

Assist. Lect. Salah Najib AbdulRahman presented a topic on “الطلاق السلیم فی ضوء القران الکریم” meaning “A proper divorce in the light of the Holy Qur’an”

Assist. Lect. Dyar Hama Shamsadin gave his presentation on “النكاح الصحیح فی ظل الشریعة الاسلامیة” which means “Proper marriage under Islamic law”.
