Workshop held on Halabja University Ranking – from Past to Present

The University of Halabja held a national workshop on “The world university ranking and the UoH position from past to present” on the 30th of January, 2022 at the Central Library Hall.

The main purpose of the workshop was to put forward the development of the university and its ranking among world university rankings throughout the past few years.

The workshop was presented by Dr. Dana Abdulla, vice-president for scientific and higher education affairs, Mr. Aram Muhammad Qadir, Director of Quality Assurance and Dr. Karzan Wakil, UoH lecturer.

Dr. Dana Abdulla touched upon the crucial role of citation, the number of academic staff and the university’s papers in relation to the world ranking of universities.

Mr. Aram Qadir mentioned the university’s position in the world rankings from 2019 until 2021 and how much progress the university has made even though out of over 10 thousand academic staff, only an insignificant portion is at the UoH. He also provided some statistics on the number of international and national papers published in journals by UoH.

lastly, Dr. Karzan Wakil discussed the different world ranking of universities around the world at the moment as well as their methodology and criteria they depend on for ranking the world universities.
