University of Halabja held a workshop on APPRAIS project on Wednesday 15th of September. It was presented by Dr. Mahabad Kamil Abdulla, the university president and Dr. Barzan Hadi HamaKareem, head of university’s international relations office.

The workshop was divided into two parts each covering a topic. The first part was presented by Dr. Mahabad who mentioned the significant previous projects, programs and funds that the university was a part of including Erasmus Mundus Marhaba, IKRUP, Tigris as well as the most recent one – APPRAIS. In each program, several administrative and academic staff were beneficiaries contributing to the overall progression of the university in academic and scientific terms.
It is noteworthy that she also shed some light on other aspects that the university has taken to advance such the implementation of Bologna Process, internalization of the university, digitization of education and administration, progressing the university journal and creating new ties with other academic institutions.

Later, Dr. Barzan started with the second part in which he presented in detail the newest project called APPRAIS. He introduced the project to the participants covering aspects such as the fact that the project is within Erasmus+ program, Key Action 2 for capacity building, funded by the European Union and run by 8 Kurdish universities and 4 European universities, the beneficiaries are top management leaders directly and the society indirectly through enhancing the quality of education, the duration which is 36 months and the subject matter of the project which manifests itself in 8 work packages each organized and run by 2 universities. The workshop ended with an open-ended discussion.
