Directorate of Health and Safety in cooperation with Halabja Fire Station held a seminar for students which is to prevent and control fire in houses and dormitories under the title, “Fire Prevention and Safety Tips” on the 25th of October, 2022 at the Computer Hall of College of Science.

During the seminar, major Mr. Zanyar Omar provided information related to the ways to prevent fire to save everyone from fire hazards especially in dormitories. Then, he discussed that when someone has shortness of breath due to smoke inhalation, they should leave the place immediately and doors should be opened. Later, he mentioned numerous ways to control fire such as cooling, removing heat items, reducing oxygen, isolating fire and so on.

Finally, the major informed the attendees that during winter and cold season, it is crucial for everyone and students at dormitories to treat heaters and home appliances used for indoor heating with extra care to prevent life threatening cases of fire.
