On the 6th of Febreuary 2022, Assist. Prof. Dr. Sirwan Hamid, Dean of College of Administration and Law University of Halabja (UoH) had a virtual meeting with Dr. Harutyun Marutyanon, director of Armenian Genocide Institute Foundation (AGMI).
At the beginning, Assist. Prof. Dr. Sirwan Hamid, delivered a speech shortly mentioning the shared tragic experience between Kurdish and Arminian people Genocide”. All the more reason for both sides to collaborate and team up on issues related to the Genocide crime.
in response to Dr. Sirwan, Dr. Harutyun Marutyanon promised that they would cooperate and fully support the university and the city.
In another part of the meeting, Mr. Awara Hussain and Mr. Dlshad Abdullah raised some questions namely, doing research and archiving the documents at the aim of getting benefit from experience of their Center on Genocide.
At the end, they reiterated on commitment to foster relationships in form of holding joint activities in the future. It is worth mentioning that the Consul General of Republic of Armenia in Erbil, Mr. Arshak Manoukian paid a visit to the University of Halabja Which paved the way to strengthen these relations.
