UoH and TUMS sign historic MoU

The University of Halabja and the Tehran University of Medical Sciences signed a momentous MoU on Monday 3rd, 2022.

As part of its continuous efforts to progress, the UoH held a virtual meeting with the TUMS for the purpose of initiating academic and scientific cooperation between the two which resulted in signing a historic MoU.

During the academic rendezvous, both universities were shortly introduced in terms of their establishments, academic units, backgrounds, progress and academic profile in general.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Mahabad Kamil Abdulla, University of Halabja president and Dr. Hossein Ghanaati, the Chancellor of Tehran University of Medical Sciences.

It was shortly mentioned in the meeting by Dr. Mahabad that this scientific collaboration with such a high-profile university as TUMS would not only honer the University of Halabja, but would also enrich and bolster the foundation basis of the College of Medicine of UoH which is currently under establishment.

TUMS is the largest, oldest and most highly-ranked medical university of Iran. It was established in 1851 and is located in Tehran. The university currently has around 1870 academic staff and about 13,000 students. TUMS, which is labeled as one of Iran’s top research universities, has 11 schools operating in 16 teaching hospitals and 44 libraries as well as 58 journals.
