University of Halabja and Kharazmi University Sign MoU

As part of its continuous efforts and within the framework of its strategic plans to develop academic relations, the University of Halabja signed a memorandum of understanding with the Kharazmi University from Iran on the 23th of November, 2021.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Mahabad Kamil Abdullah, the UoH president and Dr. Azizollah Habibi, the Kharazmi University Chancellor simultaneously during a virtual meeting between both institutions.

The MoU comes after a meeting between the two universities during the Top Iranian and Kurdish Universities Fair in Sulaimani between 23th and 28th of August 2021.

The objectives of this academic agreement include details of exchange of scientists, professors, scholars for the purpose of implementing joint research and educational projects, holding joint seminars, educational workshops and conferences as well as exchange of students in long-term or short-term programs upon mutual agreement and scholarships based on proposed programs of the parties.

Kharazmi University is an Iranian public research university located in Tehran. The university is often referred to as the oldest higher institution in Iran established in 1919 and named after the famous Persian mathematician, astronomer and geographer Muhammad ibn Musu al-Khwarizmi (780-850 CE).
