A delegation from UoH consisting of Asst. Prof. Dr. Rebwar Zainalddin Mohammed , Dean of College of Basic Education, Mr. Hosham Ata Mahmood, Head of Social Science Department, Mr.Hydayet Mohammed Ahmed, Head of English Language Department, and Mr. Aso Ahmed, Head of Arabic Language Department participated in the Workshop and Field Visit in the framework of the WP4 \u201cTeacher and Staff training\u201d at the University of Pavia. It was the fourth activity of the TeachersMOD project which took place from 29th October to 4th November in Pavia, Italy.
\nThe project has been funded with support from the European Union, Erasmus+, KA2 \u2013 Capacity-building in the Field of Higher Education, the partners are five Kurdish universities and University of Pavia as a coordinator, besides the University of Granada, University of Tras-os-Montes and Alto Duro in Portugal and UNIMED.
\nThe activity lasted for 4 days during which a workshop was conducted and designed around two general macro themes: Gender Studies and Methodology of History. A number of seminars were presented such as: Not the history of women but women in history: finding women in the sources, History as methodology for teaching: how to teach post-colonial Nation-States as well as they had extensive discussions concerning new teaching methodologies, curricula reviewing and learning outcomes revision; by reinforcing the competences of university staff in the Basic Education Colleges in the HEIs from Kurdistan region of Iraq besides, reviewing and evaluating the curricula of the social sciences in general and History in particular at primary schools in KRI.
\nIt is worth mentioning that in the fourth day of the event a seminar on \u201cThe Archive project of Halabja Genocide\u201d was presented by Mr. Hoshman Ata. The seminar was about the chemical bombardment of Halabja by former Baath\u2019s regime in Iraq, and its influence on the people and society and introducing it into the study programs of primary education. Then, they had a debate and group discussion on Memory, violence and Genocide in Contemporary history. At the end, they have decided to write a report about this issue and raised it to the Ministry of Education of the Kurdistan Regional Government.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
