Department of Law Held a National Workshop

Department of Law held a national workshop which included four sessions entitled “Human Rights from the Perspective of International and Sharia Law” on the 14th of December 2022 at the UoH Presidency Central Library Hall.
The first session was presented by Dr. Hiwa Hussein under the title, “A Critical Review of International Human Rights Law” in which he discussed the customs and their impacts on international law and agreement. He also stated that the principles of human rights have been taken from the customs and also emphasized that the period that followed the customs became law.
The second session was presented by Dr. Nassah Kareem entitled ” Woman as she is or as wanted to be” in which he presented the characteristics and hormonal and physical differences between male and female gender as well as the most important special convention on women’s rights.
The third session was presented by Dr. Hashim Omar entitled “A Reading on Human Rights” in which he discussed several verses and hadiths about Islam on the principles of human rights.
The fourth session was presented by Dr. Awara Hussein entitled, “Victims’ Rights in the International Criminal Court” in which he referred to the history of establishing the court, its responsibilities and mentioning the partner countries.
