Two lecturers from the UoH consisting of Mr. Omer Fouad Ghafor, director of Quality Assurance and Mr.Goran Omer Mustafa, director of Carrier Development Center were invited by United States IREX organization to participate in the two-days conference from 12 to 13 of December 2018 entitled, “Work force Development Conference 2018; Multisectoral approach to improving workforce Development” which was sponsored by the United States Embassy/ Baghdad and implemented by the IREX organization in collaboration with Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, industry sponsors, partners and university partners.
The aim of the Conference was to provide coordination and build cooperation between the Universities, Private sectors and government in order to develop and support the Labor Market.
At the conference, a number of seminar and panels were presented about preparing university and institution graduates for labor market.
Besides, the mechanisms methods of making reforms in the curriculum which serve the development of labor market were discussed.
It is also worth mentioning that Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Iraq and Kurdistan-Region representatives as well as representatives from the Universities and private sectors attended the Conference.
