At a ceremony which was organized by the University of Halabja (UoH), the Prof. Dr. Hamay Marif Linguistics Center was inaugurated. Attendees included Prof. Dr. Mahabad Kamil Abdullah, the UoH president, as well as the family and relatives of Prof. Dr. Hamay Marif, governmental and political figures from the Shahrazoor district, and several lecturers and employees. The purpose of opening the center is to serve and pay attention to the scientific works and research papers related to the field of linguistics of Prof. Hamay Marif in the future. It is worth to mention that opening this center is part of the activities of the second Forum of Prof. Dr. Hamay Marif. The first seminar was offered by Prof. Dilshad Ali entitled: “Professor Hamay Marif, a Scholar in Language and a Poetry Lover in Literature”. The second seminar was presented by Prof. Dr. Qays Kakl, under the title, “Professor Hamay Marif, Linguistics Directions in Kurdistan”. The third seminar was offered by Prof Dr. Sara Kamal, “Cross-Cultural Communication: a Way to Learn about Ourselves from Other Cultures” At the end, appreciation letters were awarded to the families and relatives of Professor Hamay Marif and the lecturers who participated in the forum.
