A UoH lecturer and three students published a research paper in an international journal

The UoH lecturer Mr. Peshraw Ahmad Abdallah and the three students from the department of Computer Science named Mr. Abdullah Taha Jabbar, Mr. Ali Abdullah Salam and Mr. Hedi Hamid Hama Amin published a research paper entitled, “A vast dataset for Kurdish handwritten digits and isolated characters recognition” in the international journal Data in Brief which belongs to the famous publisher Elsevier and Indexed in Scopus.

The paper is an attempt to create a model due to artificial intelligence AI to recognize Kurdish letters and numbers in pictures and manuscripts. For this purpose, the researchers collected handwritten samples of Kurdish letters and numbers from more than 1,500 people so as to organize them in two different datasets that have collected 315,000 photos.
