A UoH Lecturer Participated in an International Workshop

Mr. Awara Hussein, Law Department lecturer at UoH, participated in an international workshop entitled, “International Human Rights for Academics” on the 22nd-23rd of December 2019.
The workshop was planned to be held in Al-Najaf al-Ashraf I Iraq but due to the demonstrations and conflicts of the central and south of Iraq the workshop was organized in Darin Plaza Hotel in Erbil.
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in cooperation with the Minister of Higher Education of KRG and Iraq hosted the workshop in which the experts and lecturers of Public International Law, International Criminal Law, International Human Rights subjects of a number of universities of Central and South of Iraq and eight KRG universities attended in.
A number of topics were discussed during the mentioned two-day- workshop including:
1- The modern challenges in front of International Human Rights (First Part). Using force in implementing Rights and especially which are related to International Human Rights, implementing International Human Rights in the areas which had conflicts in advance such as the cases of Mosul, missing people and prisoners.
2- Modern Technology in Army Conflicts, the modern challenges in front of International Human Rights (Second Part). The violation of International Human Rights, International Criminal Law, the principles of International Judicial Law and implementing local acts.
